Airline Transport Pilot Certificate

The Airline Transport Pilot Certificate Course will consist of intensive Ground Instruction in the areas of Aircraft Systems, Regulations and the operational aspects of the ATC system. Flight instruction will be concentrated on the pilot's ability to fly the certification aircraft under Instrument Flight Rules within the parameters stated in the FAA Practical Test Standards for the ATP certificate.

The ATP licence is important to the commercial airplane pilot simply because the vast majority of airlines and scheduled air-taxi operators require an ATP licence.

The following summary is based on an applicant with current Instrument flying skills in a Multi-Engine aircraft and well developed understanding of the course material required for this certificate. Applicants who need remedial training in the subject matters may require more training time.
